MUS217: Orchestral Music: Analysis and Performance

Course Info

Built around the Princeton University Orchestra's spring 2016 concert programming, the course explores composer biography, historical context, and music analytical insights related to each work. This term's repertory will be the Mozart Requiem, Mahler's Symphony No. 5, and Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis. Additional works by each composer will be studied and discussed in class and through weekly assignments.
