The Musicology Program sponsors a Colloquium Series every year featuring distinguished guest scholars run by the graduate students in consultation with the Director of Graduate Studies. Speakers are chosen from among graduate student nominations and may also include other scholars and special guests as available. Regular attendance at colloquia is a responsibility of graduate students enrolled in the Musicology Program. The events are all free and open to the community.

The Work-in-Progress series is designed to promote intellectual exchange and collegiality among faculty and graduate students in the Musicology Program. The series provides an opportunity for faculty, students, and other invited colleagues to present their work in an informal setting. This an excellent opportunity to “try out” a new talk, practice for a job interview, present a chapter of a dissertation or a portion of a prospectus, or share any aspect of an ongoing research project. Students in their final two years in the program are especially encouraged to participate.
