About the Artist:
Kevin Zhang is a graduating senior at Princeton University, where he studies Philosophy and recently finished a senior thesis on moral truth. He has been a piano student of the marvelous Dr. Francine Kay for the past four years, and prior to that, he studied with Dr. Marjorie Lee in Northern Virginia.
On campus, Kevin is a member of the Princeton Pianists Ensemble, which he led as President for two semesters in 2017. During that time, the ensemble debuted on its first traveling tour and celebrated its five-year anniversary in the new Lewis Arts complex. As a lover of chamber music, Kevin has also performed with Opus 21. Outside of his musical life, he has led Outdoor Action trips, given tours as an Orange Key guide, co-directed the Human Values Forum, and dabbled in entrepreneurship.
Prior to college, Kevin was the first prize-winner of over a dozen statewide competitions, as well as the second prize-winner of the 28th International Young Artists Piano Competition. He has performed at Carnegie Hall four times, at the Hungarian Embassy, and for the Chinese Ambassador. He is also an alumnus of the Tanglewood Institute and the International Institute for Young Musicians.
Kevin is so grateful for his many musical companions, mentors, and friends at Princeton University. Though they will be sorely missed, they will also continue to be deeply cherished. After graduation, Kevin will be pursuing a BPhil at the University of Oxford and then a JD at the Yale Law School.
