Violinist Christian Tetzlaff has continued to mesmerize us time and time again, from his Princeton University Concerts debut in 2013 to his return appearances in 2016 with his sister, cellist Tanja Tetzlaff, and pianist Lars Vogt and in 2017 with violinist Pamela Frank. The siblings come back at last with longtime counterparts violinist Elisabeth Kufferath and violist Hanna Weinmeister, with whom they have been creating music for almost three decades, in a concert rescheduled from a pandemic cancellation in our planned 2019/2020 season. In a fitting tribute to the past two years, the program is connected by an emotional intensity that culminates with Schubert’s iconic and cathartic “Death and the Maiden” quartet.
