About the Artist:

Yang Song is a Senior majoring in Computer Science with certificates in Statistics and Machine Learning, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Engineering and Management Systems, Music Performance and Finance. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Yang has won Bronze and Silver Medals at the 2014 and 2015 International Mathematics Olympiads, held in Cape Town, South Africa and Chiang Mai, Thailand respectively. He holds Associate and Licentiate Diplomas in Clarinet, which he obtained in 2012 and 2013.

Yang is currently President of the Princeton University Orchestra, having previously served as Publicity Chair, and has performed in Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Barcelona and Madrid as well as the Sydney Opera House. In addition to clarinet, Yang also plays violin and alto/tenor saxophone with various ensembles at Princeton, including Princeton Camerata, Princeton Chamber Orchestra, Princeton Opera Company and the Triangle Pit Orchestra.

In addition to musical activities, Yang has been awarded the Shapiro Prize for Academic Excellence and is also a Peer Career Adviser, Dormitory Assistant and Vice President of Princeton’s Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honor Society. He studies Clarinet with Jo-Ann Sternberg.
