Practice Rooms, Lockers, & Instruments
The policies outlined below refer to pre-pandemic conditions.
Practice rooms are located in the basement of the Woolworth Center, as well as the Effron Music Building at the Lewis Arts complex. There are fifteen practice rooms (9 of which have pianos) in the Woolworth Center, and sixteen practice rooms (all with new Steinway pianos) in the Lewis Center for the Arts. Rooms 1, 102, 105 and McAlpin Rehearsal Hall in Woolworth have two pianos.
Most practice rooms at the Woolworth Center are unlocked and available for Princeton University student, faculty, and staff use. All practice rooms in the Effron Music Building are reserved for Music Majors and Certificate Program Students, Graduate Music Students, members of faculty-led Music Department performance ensembles as well as the Princeton University Wind Ensemble, and Princeton University students enrolled in private studio instruction.
