Gideon McFarland, from Georgetown, TX, is an astrophysicist and vocalist with a passion for music composition. A member of the Undergraduate Composers Collective, he wrote Soundscape, a short piece for harmonica as part of his Certificate in Music Composition. An avid nature lover, Gideon loved spending time amid the flowers and singing birds of Prospect Garden on campus, and hiking with Outdoor Action.
“I have loved working with African Music Ensemble Director Olivier Tarpaga for my last year here at Princeton. Olivier’s love for music is contagious and I always find myself enjoying the music I get to cook with him. I’m going to miss working with him when I graduate!”
