Studio Code of Conduct
Studio Code of Conduct
You will not be given prox card access to the studios or access to the mic lockers until you have met with the studio manager and completed orientation/training. After training is completed, you will be asked to sign an agreement of your understanding of the Studio Rules / Code of Conduct. By signing the agreement and accessing the studios, you agree to the following.
- No food or drink are permitted in the studios at any time.
- Studios are to be used for recording, editing, mixing, and mastering only. They cannot accommodate rehearsals and other non-recording activities.
- Only you are allowed to use your own prox card to access the spaces. Do not give someone else your card.
- Your booked session should be inclusive of the setup and breakdown time needed. There are pictures posted of the rep setup in all studios and mic lockers. This is how it should all look in each room and locked locker when you are done with your session.
- You must use the Master Lock Vault app on your smartphone to access the mic lockers. Any mics or cables used must be returned to their appropriate place in the locker and locked at the end of your session. Even if someone arrives while you are finishing, please ensure that the mics are returned, and the locker is locked, before you leave. Otherwise, you will continue to be responsible if anything goes missing after you leave.
- If you notice anything is not working as it should, first attempt to follow the troubleshooting guide posted in the rooms and, if it is still not working, please contact and report the issue.
- The mics, cables, and equipment in these rooms MUST remain in these rooms. They are not meant to be borrowed or loaned for other projects. The studio managers are checking each room frequently and reporting any missing items to Public Safety so the university can begin looking into the matter and take appropriate action.
- If anything is taken from one of the studios to be used in another studio, it should be returned to the studio it came from. Each studio has its own inventory.
- If you are using outside musicians or engineers for your session, you must always be with them in the room. Leaving non-approved individuals alone in the studios is prohibited.
Failure to follow this code of conduct could result in your access to these studios being revoked. Also, please be aware that is NOT a 24-hour technical support line. If you report an issue with the room, it may take some time to address. Thank you for your understanding.
