Early Music Princeton (EMP) is thrilled to welcome Visiting Scholar and Conductor John Butt, who has been working with the students this semester, and bringing his unique combination of scholarship and musicianship to life. Under his direction, the Chamber Ensemble will perform Bach’s ‘Brandenburg’ Concerto No. 6, the Passacaglia from Lully’s “Armide,” and Nicola Porpora’s Dixit Dominus, featuring the newly formed EMP Treble Consort.
In addition, the program will include EMP’s Viol Consort, performing works by Parsons and Dowland, as well as the EMP Vocal Ensemble, performing Elizabethan Part Songs.
