Graduate composer Troy Herion has written the film score for 306 HOLLYWOOD which premiered opening night at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and has been featured in over thirty-five other film festivals. Already winner of numerous prizes, including the Emerging International Filmmakers at Hot Docs, Grand Jury Prize at the Kansas City Film Festival, Award of Distinction at the Lighthouse Film Fest and New Jersey International, the magical realist documentary tells the story of siblings Elan and Jonathan Bogarín as they undertake an archeological excavation of their late grandmother’s house. They embark on a magical-realist journey in search of what life remains in the objects we leave behind. 306 HOLLYWOOD transforms the dusty fragments of an unassuming life into an epic metaphor for the nature of memory, time, and history.
The film will be premiered in NYC at the Quad Cinema in Union Square on September 28th, followed by a national rollout in select theaters. The soundtrack will be released on Lakeshore Records in October.
Troy will participate in a special music panel screening on Saturday, September 29th at 2:50pm, where he will be in conversation with music producer Mark Baechle and Logan Hill (This American Life, NYTimes, Esquire).
