Marna Seltzer Selected as Musical America’s Top 30 Professionals of the Year

Marna Seltzer, Director of Princeton University Concerts, has been recognized by Musical America Worldwide as one of its Movers & Shapers: Top 30 Professionals of the Year. This prestigious distinction, presented annually by the renowned organization that has served as the voice of the performing arts industry for over a century, selects individuals who are transforming and “shaping programs, practices, and perceptions of the performing arts.”

Marna was lauded for her revolutionary contributions to the presentation of classical chamber music, including the PUC125: Performances Up Close series that seats the audience onstage alongside the musicians in intimate hour-long performances, as well as the Creative Reactions Contest, a creative writing contest that invites students to submit a written response to the experience of hearing live chamber music for a cash prize. The contest now also includes a visual arts category.

Other professionals selected this year include Alex Ross, Music Critic at The New Yorker, Doug Beck, Director of the Artist Training Programs at Carnegie Hall, and Nancy Umanoff, Executive Director of the Mark Morris Dance Group. For a complete listing, click here.
